A POSTMAN turned detective to deliver a letter to an 87-year-old woman — even though the address just said “living on a housing estate”.
Damian Haworth only had the woman’s name as Mrs Annie Harris, staying on the Isle of Wight.

The writer added at the bottom “Sorry I don’t have an address so please try to find mrs Harris’.
His Facebook post was seen by a local paper, which then ran a story.
Mrs Harris’s son Tony saw it and got in touch.
He was pretty sure the letter was for his 87-year-old mum, as the postmark franked on the stamp was from Yorkshire, where she is from.

It was posted by a friend of Annie’s in Yorkshire, who couldn’t get hold of her after writing down her mobile phone number incorrectly.
Tony said: “It was just a run-of-the-mill letter, nothing particularly exciting, but good to have it despite the bizarre instructions on the envelope!”
