In 2018 Jones got another three years for a raid on a Mayfair jewellers.
He may go free as early as September next year after the Parole Board granted the prison move.
Jones was driven the 52 miles from category C HMP Highpoint, near Stradishall, Suffolk, to HMP Hollesley Bay on Friday.
His new prison, nicknamed HMP Holiday Bay because of its relaxed regime, previously housed disgraced Jeffrey Archer.
A source said: “He rocked up looking very relaxed.
“The sun’s shining — and it seems like it’s shining bright on Danny.
“Hollesley Bay’s a great place to be in this weather, he’s landed right on his feet.”
A Parole Board panel recommended Jones’ move after hearing he posed little threat to the public.

His release would mean Michael Seed, 59, was the only one of the nine veteran criminals convicted of the raid to still be behind bars.
Alarm expert Seed, who was known as Basil, was the last raider to be arrested. He is serving ten years.
Jones’s gang, nicknamed the “Diamond Wheezers” because of their ages, tunnelled into an underground safe deposit facility in London’s Hatton Garden.
